Young woman with contact lense

How to get started with contact lenses?
Only registered optometrists, contact lens opticians and medical practitioners can fit contact lenses so if you want to try contact lenses you should first make an appointment for a free contact lens assessment.
At the appointment we will discuss your visual and lifestyle needs and then undertake an eye and contact examination to determine if your eyes are healthy and suitable for lens wear. We will assess the size and shape of your eyes and general suitability for lenses for the purpose you want them. We will then recommend the lenses that are the best for you, your lifestyle and budget, before trialling them with you.
Once you’ve decided to go ahead, our Dispensing staff will teach you how to insert, remove and care for your lenses. To assess the fit, the prescription and how you tolerate a particular lens, they will send you away for a few days so you can trial them. Once everything is fine they will organise your contact lens wearing plan. We generally offer a pay as you go option for daily lenses or direct debit for monthly replacement lenses.

Contact lenses have advanced greatly in recent years offering correction for the majority of prescriptions, they are healthy for the eye and are comfortable to wear.
